Telos Brands – Marketing Role – Job Spec

Job Overview

Telos is looking for its first hire! The company is looking for someone with deep experience in marketing and brand management on Amazon to lead the marketing organization. As part of a new startup, the job will be highly dynamic and give significant opportunity for ownership, both of work product and equity in the business. As the company continues to scale quickly, there will be opportunities to build out your own team within the marketing organization.

Responsibilities

Day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Optimizing Amazon product pages
  • Managing Amazon PPC
  • Building and implementing off-Amazon marketing strategies, such as Shopify sites, Google PPC, affiliate marketing, etc.
  • Assist with demand forecasting
  • General brand management duties

Successful candidates will be considered for future leadership positions within the marketing organization.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years track record of success in Amazon marketing, including product page design and PPC campaign management
  • Data-driven approach to marketing performance
  • Extreme familiarity with Amazon ToS
  • Must be a self-starter

Additional preferred qualifications:

  • Off-Amazon marketing experience
  • Previous leadership experience is preferred but not required

Director of M&A

Job Overview

Our Director of M&A will work closely with our CFO to source and diligence companies for Telos Brands to acquire. The founding team has deep experience acquiring and operating businesses for blue-chip private equity companies. Telos Brands has $10M+ in dry powder to acquire category-leading FBA companies with strong review moats, best-in-class products, and established eCommerce rankings. As part of a new startup, you’ll have significant opportunity to shape the Telos M&A playbook and take on an increasing scope of responsibilities as the company grows including building out the broader M&A team. 

Telos operates at a high pace of acquisitions and looks to close 1-2 transactions per month, with this pace only accelerating. Our Director of M&A should be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and be willing and able to improve on and rethink processes to achieve this aggressive pace.  

Responsibilities

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with intermediaries (e.g., brokers) and business owners to build relationships ahead of a potential Telos acquisition
  • Identifying high-quality Amazon FBA businesses as potential acquisition targets and helping to manage Telos’ deal pipeline
  • Working with our operations team to identify opportunities to improve target’s performance after Telos acquisition
  • Executing on financial and market diligence to identify whether a target is a good fit for Telos
  • Working with our technology team to develop and refine Telos’ sourcing and diligence software tools

Successful candidates will be considered for future leadership positions within the M&A organization.

Qualifications

  • Prior deal execution experience (e.g., investment banking, private equity, venture capital, etc.) 
  • Strong financial background and knowledge
  • High comfort level in engaging with and negotiating with business owners

Additional preferred qualifications:

  • Experience identifying and sourcing potential acquisitions either on the investing or corporate side
  • Consumer or eCommerce experience
  • People management experience
