Telos Brands – Marketing Role – Job Spec

Job Overview

Telos is looking for its first hire! The company is looking for someone with deep experience in marketing and brand management on Amazon to lead the marketing organization. As part of a new startup, the job will be highly dynamic and give significant opportunity for ownership, both of work product and equity in the business. As the company continues to scale quickly, there will be opportunities to build out your own team within the marketing organization.

Responsibilities

Day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Optimizing Amazon product pages
  • Managing Amazon PPC
  • Building and implementing off-Amazon marketing strategies, such as Shopify sites, Google PPC, affiliate marketing, etc.
  • Assist with demand forecasting
  • General brand management duties

Successful candidates will be considered for future leadership positions within the marketing organization.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years track record of success in Amazon marketing, including product page design and PPC campaign management
  • Data-driven approach to marketing performance
  • Extreme familiarity with Amazon ToS
  • Must be a self-starter

Additional preferred qualifications:

  • Off-Amazon marketing experience
  • Previous leadership experience is preferred but not required

Brand Manager

Job Overview

Our portfolio brand manager will oversee all operations for 3-6 brands (over $1M+ in earnings), including marketing, demand forecasting / inventory planning, product development, supply chain, and customer experience. As part of a new startup, you’ll have significant opportunity to shape the Telos operating playbook and take on an increasing scope of responsibilities with future acquisitions.

Telos looks to grow the brands we acquire by over 100% in the first year post-acquisition. Our brand manager should be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and be willing to rethink processes to achieve these aggressive goals. Brand managers who are successful in driving the aggressive growth we seek will be compensated accordingly.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Running a seven-figure portfolio of brands with ultimate P&L responsibility to drive profitability
  • Partnering with our marketing team to optimize product pages, product positioning and traffic
  • Managing inventory, including demand forecasting at the SKU-level and ensuring no stockouts
  • Responding to customer comments or questions
  • Overseeing expansion of products to new sales channels (i.e., Walmart or Shopify) and new markets (i.e., Canada or the UK)

Over time, the role may involve managing a team of specialists to assist with brand management.

Qualifications

  • Prior ecommerce experience, preferably with experience selling on Amazon
  • Experience should encompass managing marketing and demand forecasting for ecommerce brands

Additional preferred qualifications:

  • Prior Amazon FBA experience, with a track record of growing Amazon revenue
  • Prior P&L ownership experience
  • Experience launching new products on Amazon 
  • Amazon international expansion experience
  • People management experience
